After the CIVILised comp ends, the gloves come off.

30 top pilots
HARD tasks
10 stragglers go packing, daily
Only the strongest of the strong survive

No more Mr Nice Guy. This is a flat out race.
No playing for points... No hanging with the pack... No staggered launch clocks... No playing strategy... No easy tasks... Go hard or go home.

We're taking the thirty best pilots and letting them have what they've been begging for, a good clean honest race.
Each day, the ten that can't keep up get dropped.

This year at Quest Air we are planning a special "Race of Champions" following our annual Flytec Championships this spring. With a lot of help from top international pilots, we have come up with a format that proves to be really exciting and fun for both spectators and participants.

Only the best
The Race will run for 3 days and only the top 30 placing pilots from the Flytec Championships will be eligible to enter.

Keep up or go home
We are planning long, difficult tasks for these top guys with a single "race" start each day.
The first day all 30 pilots will fly, with the bottom 10 from that day getting eliminated.
The second day then, there will only be 20 guys racing with an elimination of the bottom 10 that day as well.
On the last day it will just be the 10 best of the best racing against each other...and themselves!

The online angle
Those that can't stay for the Race and those that aren't able to come to Florida will be able to follow the Race on a nearly moment by moment basis. Something similar is done with Formula 1 racing and it attracts a lot spectators that obviously can't be at the race in person.

With audio and video posts we hope to keep remote spectators following the Race online.
The blog will have pilot profiles and interviews and lots of photos, audio and video posts.
We will be sending at least one Dragonfly along the course line with the guys to shoot video and still shots for the blog and to provide live updates.
In addition, we will have certain pilots (hopefully most of them) in radio contact to give the pilots' perspective along the course for audio posts on the blog.
At the end of each task then, there will also be a recap/summary of the day with interviews with the top guys and photos/video of goal crossings and other exciting moments.

We are really excited about the Race and we're finding the pilots are as well. We have an unusually high number of the top US and internationally ranked pilots registered this year, many of whom are coming especially because of the Race. We hope you can join us either in person or online!
